Sensus 2011 en tuisskolers / Census 2011 and homeschoolers
(English below)

==========
Members of the Pestalozzi Trust contacted the Trust in connection with the question on the census form regarding home schooling. The question is: “Should we admit that we are home schooling or not?”
The Trust recommends to its members to be honest in declaring that they are home schooling, for the following reasons:
1) You cannot be prosecuted as a result of the information thus made known. The information is privileged, and may not be made available to any other organization. (Although identifiable information about the inhabitants is requested, the data cannot be linked to the address, and the data becomes anonymous in the course of processing the data.)
2) The home schooling community in South Africa needs Information about the number of home schooling families in country. At this stage no data about the exact number of home schoolers exists.
Please spread this message to your home schooling friends, support groups and other home schooling interest groups.
